The focus of this paper is an exploration of his pedagogical philosophy, specifically as it relates to instructional planning and organization practices aimed at enhancing student learning and achievement. It includes a synopsis of Eisner’s pedagogical philosophy and evaluates the practicality of implementing Eisner’s curriculum improvement suggestions in U.S. educational environments. The gaps between ideal pedagogical philosophies and contemporary U.S. education practice are unmeasurable.
